About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply when you use the Invention Engine website, purchase products from us, submit a school purchase order, use our software applications, download our resources, contact our team, or otherwise interact with Microbric.
By using our website, ordering goods or services, submitting a purchase order, or using our resources, you agree to these terms. If you are placing an order on behalf of a school, university, college, library, business or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights, guarantees or remedies you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.

Invention Engine is created and supplied by Microbric Pty Ltd ACN 110 306 164.
In these terms, “Microbric”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Microbric Pty Ltd and, where applicable, related Microbric entities involved in fulfilling, invoicing, supporting or supplying your order.

Using the website
You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not use the website in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, impair or interfere with the operation of the website or with another person’s use of the website.
We may update, change, suspend or remove website content at any time. While we aim to keep information accurate and helpful, we do not guarantee that all website content will always be complete, current or error-free.
Links to third-party websites, tools or services are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content, policies, security or availability of third-party websites or services.
Orders and purchases
You can purchase Invention Engine products through our online store where available, or by submitting a valid school purchase order if your school qualifies for credit terms.
When you place an order, you agree to provide accurate billing, delivery and contact information. We may contact you if we need to confirm details before processing or dispatching your order.
We may decline, cancel or request prepayment for an order where:
- the order details are incomplete or incorrect;
- payment cannot be processed;
- the order exceeds the applicable credit limit;
- the product is unavailable;
- there is a pricing, tax, shipping or product description error;
- we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unauthorised ordering; or
- we are unable to supply the order for legal, logistical or operational reasons.
School purchase orders and credit terms
Australian and US schools, universities, colleges and libraries qualify for 30-day credit terms when ordering with a valid school purchase order, subject to the credit limits and conditions below.

Orders over the applicable credit limit require payment before shipping unless Microbric agrees otherwise in writing. Distributor credit terms are not available.
Australian schools
Australian schools can submit a valid school purchase order for Invention Engine products.

Send your valid school purchase order through our contact form. Select “Purchase order / school credit terms” where available.
Receive your tax invoice
Once the order is received, a tax invoice will be emailed in Australian dollars with 30-day credit.
Check your confirmation
You should receive confirmation within two business days. If not, please follow up through the contact form.
Goods are dispatched
Australian school orders are dispatched locally from Adelaide.
Important notes for Australian schools
- GST applies to Australian tax invoices.
- Australian school orders ship locally from Adelaide.
- Free shipping applies for Australian school orders.
- No import duties apply because orders ship locally.
- Credit is limited to $5,000 AUD.
- Orders over $5,000 AUD require payment before shipping unless otherwise approved by Microbric.
US schools
US schools can submit a valid school purchase order for Invention Engine products.

- Orders over $5,000 USD require payment before shipping unless otherwise approved by Microbric.
- A W-9 form for Microbric, LLC is available for US schools if applicable.
International orders
Credit terms are automatically available for qualifying Australian and US schools. Schools outside Australia and the US should contact Microbric if they need help with ordering, paperwork or distributor options.
Orders outside Australia and the US may ship from Hong Kong or China. Duties, taxes and import fees may apply depending on your country’s import rules.
Where online ordering is available for your country, you may use our shop to place your order. If your country is not listed, or if your school has specific purchasing requirements, contact us through the form and our team can help.
Distributor credit terms are not available. Distributor enquiries are welcome through the contact form.
Payment, pricing and tax
Prices, product availability, shipping options and taxes may change from time to time. We may correct pricing, product description, currency, tax or availability errors before accepting or fulfilling an order.
Online orders must be paid at checkout using the payment methods available on the website. School purchase orders are subject to the credit terms set out above.
Australian school invoices are issued in Australian dollars and GST applies to Australian tax invoices. US school invoices are issued under the applicable US ordering process. Other countries may be subject to local taxes, duties, import costs or fees.
Payment is due according to the invoice or order confirmation. Where payment is overdue, we may pause further supply, require prepayment for future orders, or take reasonable steps to recover unpaid amounts.
Shipping and dispatch
Dispatch locations depend on the ordering country and fulfilment pathway.
- Australian school orders are dispatched from Adelaide.
- US school orders are dispatched from California.
- Orders outside Australia and the US may ship from Hong Kong or China.
Free shipping applies for Australian and US school purchase orders. For other countries, shipping, duties, taxes and import costs may vary.
Delivery dates and shipping estimates are estimates only. Delays may occur due to customs, freight providers, local processing, school receiving procedures, public holidays or circumstances outside our control.
Returns and warranty
If your product is faulty, you may return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay the return shipping costs if the return is the result of our error, such as if you received an incorrect or defective item.
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper. In many cases, you may receive your refund sooner. This period includes return transit time, processing time once we receive the returned item, and the time your bank may take to process the refund.
Invention Engine is covered by a 12-month replacement warranty. We may replace, refund or supply replacement parts at our discretion based on availability and the nature of the fault for a period of 12 months.

Educational resources and app use
Invention Engine provides educational resources, including teacher guides, student guides, invention journals, datasheets and getting started materials. These resources are provided to support classroom use of Invention Engine.
Our programming app is provided to help users program Invention Engine hardware. You must use the app, resources and products in accordance with instructions, applicable laws, school policies and reasonable safety requirements.
We may update, replace, modify or discontinue resources, software features, app access or support materials from time to time.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the Invention Engine name, Microbric name, logos, product names, website content, graphics, product designs, software, code, images and other materials are owned by or licensed to Microbric.
You may use Invention Engine educational resources for teaching, learning, classroom preparation, school purchasing and internal school approval purposes. You must not remove copyright notices, brand notices, licence information or attribution statements from resources.
Some downloadable resources may include their own licence terms. Where a resource includes a specific licence notice, that licence applies to that resource.
Invention Engine Blocks is developed by Microbric Pty Ltd using open source software created and maintained by the Scratch Foundation. The Scratch Foundation does not sponsor, endorse or authorise this content. See scratch.mit.edu for more information.
Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This includes information you provide when you contact us, submit a form, sign up for updates, use our shopping cart, place an order, use our software applications or otherwise interact with us.
Our programming app does not require a user to register with the app in order to access and use the app.

Safety and classroom use
Invention Engine is designed for educational use. Teachers, schools, parents, guardians and supervisors are responsible for ensuring that students use the products, tools, bits, electronics, cardboard, craft materials and other classroom supplies safely and appropriately.
You must follow all instructions, warnings and safety guidance supplied with the product or resources. Small parts, batteries, tools, cables and classroom construction materials should be managed carefully and used under suitable supervision.
Schools and educators are responsible for determining whether Invention Engine is suitable for their students, classroom environment, safety policies and curriculum requirements.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Microbric is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, loss of opportunity, interruption to teaching, or loss caused by misuse, incorrect setup, unauthorised modification, unsuitable materials, third-party services, shipping delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where we are permitted by law to limit our liability, our liability is limited, at our choice, to replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, repairing the goods, paying the cost of replacing the goods, or paying the cost of having the goods repaired.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website, products, resources or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
